JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our client is a locally owned and highly respected engineering company in Austin that is looking to add a Mechanical Engineer PE / PM with HVAC and/or plumbing design experience to their growing team. This is a full-time, direct hire position at an outstanding company in a great location with generous compensation, benefits, bonus/401K, and PTO programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Calculate, design, and generate AutoCAD and/or Revit files and construction documents to support MEP engineering needs for a variety of building types (commercial office, K-12 schools, municipal buildings, healthcare facilities, multifamily, etc.), especially in the area of HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical systems.
  • Project management responsibilities on both small and large projects, establish schedules, assign resources, monitor performance, and keep projects on time and on budget.
  • Maintain and organize all mechanical engineering related documents and schedules, along with any associated general project documents.
  • Provide review of mechanical design submittals and go into the field as needed to address any issues, conflicts, or questions that may arise.
  • Generate and present project status updates as needed to a variety of internal and external audiences.
  • Work toward developing new business with existing and new clients through building relationships.
  • QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or other engineering discipline and at least 6 years relevant experience in HVAC or plumbing design and project management; MS degree is a plus.
  • Current PE License.
  • Previous work in AutoCAD and Revit is required, and familiarity with HVAC modeling programs such as TRACE
    700, CHVAC
    7.0, and/or AIRMaster is a big plus.
  • HVAC / Plumbing design and Project Management experience for commercial, multifamily, educational, healthcare, and institutional buildings is a very strong plus.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with a range of people from subcontractors to project owners.
