JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our client is a locally owned and highly respected engineering company in Austin that is looking to add a Mechanical Engineer PE / PM with HVAC and/or plumbing design experience to their growing team. This is a full-time, direct hire position at an outstanding company in a great location with generous compensation, benefits, bonus/401K, and PTO programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Calculate, design, and generate AutoCAD and/or Revit files and construction documents to support MEP engineering needs for a variety of building types (commercial office, K-12 schools, municipal buildings, healthcare facilities, multifamily, etc.), especially in the area of HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical systems.

Project management responsibilities on both small and large projects, establish schedules, assign resources, monitor performance, and keep projects on time and on budget.

Maintain and organize all mechanical engineering related documents and schedules, along with any associated general project documents.

Provide review of mechanical design submittals and go into the field as needed to address any issues, conflicts, or questions that may arise.

Generate and present project status updates as needed to a variety of internal and external audiences.

Work toward developing new business with existing and new clients through building relationships.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or other engineering discipline and at least 6 years relevant experience in HVAC or plumbing design and project management; MS degree is a plus.

Current PE License.

Previous work in AutoCAD and Revit is required, and familiarity with HVAC modeling programs such as TRACE
700, CHVAC
7.0, and/or AIRMaster is a big plus.

HVAC / Plumbing design and Project Management experience for commercial, multifamily, educational, healthcare, and institutional buildings is a very strong plus.

Must have excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with a range of people from subcontractors to project owners.
