Overview
What You’ll Be Doing:
The following is a list of the major responsibilities of the Commercial Construction Project Engineer:
Proficient with Procore and familiarity with MS Projects
Provide support during pre-construction and project closeout processes
Assist with monitoring project budgets and forecasting updates
Review project plans and specifications to provide input on scheduling, design, and potential cost-saving measures
Assist the estimating team in preparing budgets and bids
Prepare, track, and maintain submittals, RFIs, and change order logs
Coordinate timely submissions/reviews of shop drawings and required approvals
Assist with creating project schedules in Microsoft Project and help track progress
Attend and prepare meeting minutes for OAC meetings
Track and help resolve errors, discrepancies, or omissions in construction documents
Monitor site safety documentation in conjunction with the Superintendent and ensure compliance with safety standards
Assist with tracking inspections, testing, and municipal approvals
Maintain accurate project records, as-builts, and closeout documentation
Provide general project administrative support to Project Managers and Superintendents
Other duties as assigned or needed to fulfill job requirements
This is a 40+ hour position, salary exempt professional – Benefits (Health/Dental/401k) are provided for salaried positions.
Qualifications & RequirementsTo be considered for this position, you will possess the following skills, attributes, and abilities:
Minimum 2–4 years’ experience as a Project Engineer (or related role) on commercial and/or industrial projects
College or university degree in a construction-related field preferred
Understanding of construction terms, scheduling, and planning
Proficient in Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Projects, Excel, etc.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
