As a Product Development engineer in the Q&R Modeling Team, you will collaborate with various Product Development Groups to ensure AMD's next‑generation microprocessors deliver industry‑leading Quality and Reliability.
The PersonA successful candidate is one who can perform in a role that requires strong analytical and technical communication skills; accountability for accuracy, reliability and completeness of assignment results critical to the project’s success.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze large volumes of empirical test data to extract models and actionable insights for improving AMD Q&R.
- Assess the Q&R impact of product design/test decisions and provide feedback for new features and/or improvements.
- Analyze customer failure issues, develop models to assess risks and propose mitigation strategies, both immediate, and long‑term.
- Create systems for predicting quality and reliability for new products and assessing those predictions against actual field data for the purpose of improving future predictions.
- Test pattern & test flow analysis from a quality perspective.
- Basic knowledge of semiconductor device physics.
- Solid understanding of statistics.
- Fluency in computer programming in languages such as Python.
- Experience creating mathematical models to describe real world phenomena, processes, and data sets.
- Experience working with databases and SQL.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in physics, mathematics, electrical engineering or comparable disciplines.
