What

You’ll Do
  • Design and develop intra‑switch gear and inter‑equipment control systems
  • Design and develop site‑wide Sequence of Operation (SOO)
  • Conduct vendor coordination and submittal review and factory witness test to ensure equipment is produced to spec and conforms with all design‑build requirements
  • Design and develop safety mechanical, electrical, and/or electromechanical interlock systems
  • Design and develop system‑wide automation systems using PLC or RTAC‑style industrial controllers, including but not limited to system overload prevention, multi‑purpose busway interlocks, load management systems, generator plant load curtailment systems, gen plant start and load controls including selective load pickup and load‑shed schemes, etc.
  • Design and develop SEL/ABB/Siemens relay protection and logic settings such as MTM transfer schemes using mirrored bit communication or hardwire
  • Design and develop SEL/ABB/Siemens relay IEC
    61850 based protection and control logics
What You’ll Need To Be Successful
  • Understanding of power systems and ability to provide power system failure analysis, event or SOE analysis, or develop a metering/triggering system to conduct such analysis
  • Knowledge of electrical power systems including generators, transformers, motors, automated switch gear, protective relays, UPS/DRUPS systems, motor‑generator sets, battery storage systems, inverters, PV systems, wind turbines, substation equipment, etc.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.);
    Oracle preferred
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, adjusting priorities as necessary
  • Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude
  • Effective oral and written communication skills required for the position
  • Self‑motivation, proactiveness, and effective teamwork
  • Professional interaction with all levels of employees, both management and staff, vendors, clients, and others
What You Bring To Us
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 8+ years of engineering design experience in electrical power systems
  • PE license required
Travel
  • Up to 100%
Working Conditions
  • General work environment – sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending; primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning
  • Noise level is usually low to medium; it can be loud on the job site
  • Full compliance with the ADA and applicable state law, including reasonable accommodation measures for qualified disabled applicants and employees
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
