System Application Engineer - Building Controls

This Application Engineer is independent and decisive. They are highly skilled and an expert building automation system programmer. They are passionate about driving innovation in the field of building automation.
Typical responsibilities- Expertise in Tridium Niagara, Schneider Electric Ecostruxure Building operation system, Siemens Building automation system or Johnson Controls systems.
- Experience providing high quality programming per specifications, standards, budgets, and schedules.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely with customers, contractors, engineers, and fellow team members.
- Working as part of a team that is responsible for the programming, start‑up, troubleshooting and commissioning of DDC building automation systems.
- Configuring, programming, and customizing control systems to meet project‑specific needs.
- Creation of software programs and front‑end graphics.
- Commissioning on projects.
- Analyzing problems and resolving issues to ensure the complete system functions properly.
- Performing system diagnostics and recommending enhancements to improve system performance and efficiency.
- Coordinating customer training and completing close‑out documents.
- Providing technical support and direction to end‑users and employees when applicable.
- 2-4 years experience in a similar role.
- Ability to take the lead programmer role on medium to large projects.
- Can work independently with 3rd parties such as TAB, IT engineers, commissioning agents, and equipment vendors.
- Able to identify and resolve discrepancies and anomalies in submittals and contract drawings.
- Working knowledge of IP networking basics.
- Able to configure switches, routers, controllers, gateways, firewalls, etc. on a BAS LAN.
- Demonstrated proficiency with setup and troubleshooting of BACnet, Modbus, and LON communication networks.

This employee typically works under daily supervision of a Project Manager and reports into an Engineering or Software Manager.
