Senior Applications Engineer

Introduction to the job

As a Senior Applications Engineer on the ASML Austin / Taylor startup team you’ll support customers with the launch of a leading‑edge EUV factory. You’ll help introduce and transfer ASML’s EUV DUV and applications product portfolio to support technology qualification factory startup and ramp.

In this customer‑facing role you’ll own defined internal and external projects, address escalated customer issues and translate on‑product challenges into actionable lithography or metrology problem statements. You’ll collaborate with regional and global teams to resolve issues, apply ASML’s metrology and scanner products and maximize their value for the customer.

You’ll also help define and drive customer requirements for current and future products, proactively identify new application opportunities and work closely with sales and product teams. Strong data analysis and structured problem‑solving skills are essential as you’ll present technical findings and results to both ASML and customers.

• Participate and / or lead projects aimed at supporting our customer transition to a new technology node or ramping up a specific technology node.
• Own work streams within a larger project and develop and drive autonomously a project plan, chasing successful execution with regular updates to relevant internal and external stakeholders.
• Define (on‑product) experiments and join customers in experimentation to ensure that they are performed efficiently, accurately and demonstrate ASML’s product value.
• Define and conduct (on‑product) data analysis to ensure that correct conclusions are drawn from customers' acquired experimental data, with results reported to ASML and the customer.
• Translate a customer on‑product issue into a potential lithography or metrology related problem statement, resolve these issues to help them maximize the performance and use of ASML products.
• Meet with internal and external stakeholders to maintain a two‑way level of commitment, keeping all involved and affected parties informed of progress.
• Prepare technical presentations for customer meetings, provide new user support and assist sales.

• Master’s degree or Ph.D. in a technical discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of work experience in a similar role.
• Minimum 5 years of experience within the semiconductor or manufacturing industry.
• Minimum 5 years of experience utilizing MATLAB, Python, JMP or similar software.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in data analysis and summarizing technical data to present findings.
• Extensive experience with stakeholder and change management.

Up to 10 % travel is included in the job for training and x‑site support.
