The Electrical Engineer position will work on a variety of energy projects. This role targets professionals with industrial, water/wastewater, federal, and power generation experience. Renewable system design is a growing part of our portfolio and offers opportunities for professional growth in this expanding segment of consulting service.
OverviewThe Electrical Engineer will manage other discipline engineers and perform electrical work on a variety of projects. Responsibilities include electrical system analysis and design, modeling, and integration of renewable energy solutions.
Responsibilities- Perform electrical system analysis including load flow, short circuit, coordination and arc flash studies.
- Engineer microgrid (distributed generation), battery storage energy systems, and photovoltaic electrical systems including studies and system modeling.
- Design electrical systems in accordance with NEC, including power distribution to medium- and low-voltage systems, mechanical building systems, and lighting systems.
- Design campus distribution and building low-voltage systems; may include working with European voltage systems and standards.
- Coordinate with vendors, assist in sizing, selecting, and specifying electrical equipment.
- Perform project field site visits as needed.

Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university
- 2 – 8 years of experience
- Experience in industrial, water/wastewater, federal, and power generation sectors
- Understanding of developing engineering drawings and specifications
- Ability to perform basic engineering calculations
- Experience sizing, selecting, and specifying electrical equipment and coordinating information with vendors
- Ability to perform field site visits
- Experience designing medium- and low-voltage electrical systems
- Computer programs: ETAP, SKM or Easypower; AGI or Visual Lighting Software
- AutoCAD/Revit experience is a plus
- FE or PE licensure depending on experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- General understanding of engineering drawings and specifications
