Hardware Validation Engineer

Our client, a leader in the technology industry, is seeking a Hardware Validation Engineer to join their team. As a Hardware Validation Engineer, you will be part of the Hardware Development Department supporting the Performance Validation team. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a proactive attitude, and excellent collaboration abilities, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Hardware Validation Engineer

Location: Austin, TX

• Analyze benchmarks and performance characteristics of next-generation servers and AI accelerators.
• Develop and maintain benchmark workloads, configuration files, build and run scripts.
• Research trade-offs for server architecture, focusing on memory hierarchy, storage systems, scheduling, and I/O devices.
• Collect and interpret data from benchmark results, CPU performance counters, and related performance metrics to identify bottlenecks.
• Evaluate system performance using industry-standard benchmarks such as SPEC CPU, STREAM, HPL, DGEMM, and SPECjbb across multiple platforms.

• Hardware validation experience (network cards, storage, CXL, memory, GPUs/AI accelerators, and especially CPUs), experience with Linux and performance validation.
• Experience with Linux performance analysis tools and methodologies.
• Proven experience executing industry-standard benchmarks or other performance testing workloads.
• Test automation experience to streamline validation processes.
• Strong motivation as an independent contributor with a desire to learn and grow in technology.
• Understanding of computer system architecture and programming/scripting skills (e.g., C/C++, Bash, Python).
