Role Summary
The M/E Engineer 2 will complete routine mechanical, electrical and field construction activities. This position is responsible for collecting and assembling data, helping to develop estimates and generating bid analysis in support of JE Dunn’s strategy, vision and values.
Key Responsibilities – Core- Learn and actively participate in all aspects of the company’s safety and quality plans.
- Complete routine mechanical, electrical and field construction activities.
- Develop budgetary M/E estimates using the automated M/E estimating system.
- Review mechanical and electrical options during the preconstruction process and complete systems analysis for select projects.
- Assist in bid analysis, subcontractor selection and develop sequencing requirements of various systems.
- Perform job inspections, shop drawing/submittal process and commissioning functions including functional testing and pre-functional checklists.
- Generate, issue and execute the Commissioning Plan for assigned projects.
- Interact independently with project teams regarding deliverables.
- Produce and explain work product to clients and represent JE Dunn professionally.
- Review compliance shop drawings and submittals from subcontractors.
- Lead the mechanical/electrical coordination process and participate in all phases of construction.
- Develop schedules for mechanical/electrical systems and perform site inspections with reports.
- Provide budgetary M/E estimates and participate in bid analysis and de‑risk options.
- Accurate, complete and timely work performance.
- Intermediate verbal and written communication skills.
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office.
- Ability to read and understand plans, drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in basic JE Dunn M/E tools and software.
- Knowledge of construction management methods.
- Strong relationship building and collaboration within teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, architectural engineering or related field (Required).
- Equivalent relevant experience considered.
- 2+ years construction and/or engineering experience (Required).
