Location:

Austin, TX 78744 (Onsite) Duration: 12 Months - Contract Only Pay Rate: $25/HR on W2. MUST HAVE

  • Civil 3D
  • Experience manipulating point cloud data (ReCap Pro, LiDAR, Terrestrial scans, SUE scans, etc.) Revit
  • 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Experience with Civil 3D, Revit, Inventor, point-cloud manipulation.
  • Have good organizational skills. Knowledge of Relay and Control engineering drawings.
  • This is a driving role MVR needed on Background
JOB DESCRIPTION
  • General Overview:
    At an entry level, performs drafting. This position develops competence by performing structured work assignments and receives instruction, guidance, and direction from team lead, supervisor, manager and/or more experienced colleagues. This position focuses on either drafting or engineering support duties. These duties are a combination of the following:
  • Performs field observations and gathers engineering information by traveling with a team to various locations (substations, power plants, water systems, etc.) as necessary.
  • Prepares and updates as-built drawings based on field edits.
  • Reads and interprets engineering drawings, construction drawings and other technical information.
  • Has experience manipulating point cloud data (ReCap Pro, LiDAR, Terrestrial scans, SUE scans, etc.) to verify 2D and 3D design drawings.
  • Using computer-aided design software and equipment, prepares detailed engineering drawings, maps and graphs from provided materials such as previous drawings, layouts, detailed sketches and standard references.
  • Clearly indicates revisions, files drawings and drawing update documentation according to standard procedures.
  • Assists in drafting solicitation documents using established procedures, formats, and templates to support procurement and contract activities.
  • Assists with field and/or office research related to field measurements, historical engineering drawings, equipment databases, microfilm, inventory, electronic document management system (EDMS) records and other technical records to design equipment and layouts, as well as to produce equipment ratings and facility statistics. Field research may involve various physical activities.
  • Performs data entry in the departmental engineering database.
  • Operates equipment, such as plotters, printers, copiers and scanners.

Minimum Qualifications:

One or more years of experience interpreting technical drawings/documents and performing technical analysis or drafting using computer-aided design software. A degree in computer-aided design or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience. Driver s license for traveling to various locations (substations, power plants, water systems, etc.)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of computer-aided drafting principles, standards and techniques.
  • Knowledge of electronic document management systems (EDMS)
  • Knowledge of work management systems.
  • Basic skill in computer-aided drafting.
  • Basic skill in reading and interpreting diagrams and prints.
  • Basic skill level in office productivity applications (such as email, word processing, spreadsheets, etc.).
  • Skill in reading and interpreting technical information.
  • Skill in analyzing and solving problems.
  • Skill in verbal and written communication.
  • Skill in operating plotters, printers, copiers and scanners.
  • Ability to perform accurate data entry.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
