Overview

As the Project Engineering Manager for Water & Wastewater we will lead engineering execution for a portfolio of traditional, design‑build, design‑bid‑build and collaborative projects such as advanced treatment facilities, underground conveyance and carbon neutral solutions. The role offers an opportunity to mentor high‑profile teams, manage budgets and scheduling, and deliver top‑notch technical solutions for municipal clients.

The Opportunity
  • Lead a multi‑disciplinary team of engineers and technicians on high‑profile municipal projects.
  • Supervise and mentor staff, identifying developmental growth opportunities.
  • Manage budgets, scheduling and client and project management correspondence.
  • Prepare complex engineering deliverables, research and equipment/material recommendations.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, schedules and quality requirements.
  • Coordinate multiple discipline activities and serve as the responsible charge for a project.
  • Act as primary client interface, conveying concerns, developing solutions and supporting business development.
  • Provide input to technical leadership for complex water and wastewater treatment projects.
  • Drive solutions to achieve project goals and mitigate risk.
  • Review lower‑level engineering work and support performance management.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare complex engineering deliverables for large or multiple projects.
  • Assist in research to develop equipment and material recommendations.
  • Prepare detailed engineering calculations following standard methods.
  • Develop and manage project budgets and schedules across disciplines.
  • Lead production teams, coordinate discipline activities, and own project responsibility.
Client Interface
  • Identify key client interests for moderately complex projects.
  • Communicate client concerns to team and develop solutions.
  • Support business development or pursuit activities.
  • Manage project changes directly with the client under PM supervision.
Technical Expertise
  • Lead large multi‑disciplinary teams to meet deliverables.
  • Provide input to technical leadership for complex projects.
  • Drive solutions to achieve project goals.
Management Responsibilities
  • Review lower‑level engineering work or assignments.
  • Mentor and perform performance management of assigned personnel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PE license.
  • Previous engineering consulting experience.
  • Experience executing multi‑discipline WTP and WWTP upgrades and expansion projects.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program.
  • Minimum five years of related work experience.
  • Ability to complete pre‑employment onboarding including background & motor vehicle records searches.
Work Environment / Physical Demands
  • Hybrid or flexible work options available after 90 days based on performance.
  • Sitting/standing/computer usage for extended periods.
  • Ability to use video/audio conferencing tools.
  • Travel to client sites.
Salary Plan

Engineering (Grade 016) – competitive.
