Job Description & How to Apply Below

We are seeking a Technical Leader, Water Infrastructure to provide expert technical direction across the planning, design and delivery of complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This role will lead multidisciplinary teams, set technical standards and ensure that solutions are safe, resilient, sustainable, compliant and commercially viable. You will work closely with clients, contractors, regulators and internal stakeholders to understand needs, develop effective strategies and translate them into deliverable engineering outcomes.

Responsibilities will include providing technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle; reviewing and approving designs, specifications, calculations and technical reports; managing design interfaces and resolving complex engineering issues; and supporting the development of asset management, investment and infrastructure improvement programmes. You will contribute to bids, fee proposals, business development and client presentations, while mentoring engineers and promoting knowledge sharing across the wider technical community.

The role will also require you to identify and manage technical, operational and project risks, maintain awareness of relevant legislation and industry standards, and champion innovation, digital engineering and low-carbon approaches.

You will be a professionally qualified civil, water or environmental engineer, with substantial experience delivering major water infrastructure projects and a strong understanding of water supply, wastewater, treatment, networks or associated assets. Chartered status, or demonstrable progress towards professional registration, is desirable. You should be confident leading technical teams, influencing senior stakeholders and communicating complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Strong project delivery, problem-solving and decision-making skills are essential, together with experience of design assurance, health and safety, quality management and risk control. A collaborative, inclusive approach and a commitment to continuous improvement will be highly valued.
