Building the future of sensing is extremely hard work. We move fast, tackle difficult technical problems, and expect a lot from one another. We look for self-starters who take ownership and deliver. If you are looking for a traditional 9-to-5, this is not the place for you.
But if you want to build advanced sensing systems in Austin, strengthen U.S. military capabilities, protect American warfighters, support public safety and aerial firefighting, and work alongside operators in the field, we want to hear from you.
Why Austin Sensing Co.We design and manufacture vertically integrated sensing systems for defense, public safety, and critical infrastructure. Our products are deployed in demanding environments where failure is not an option. Built in America and headquartered in Austin, Texas.

About Austin Sensing CompanyAustin Sensing Company builds radar, acoustic, and RF sensors for defense, public safety, critical infrastructure, and autonomous systems. We design and manufacture our hardware in Austin, Texas, with a focus on making high-performance sensing reliable, affordable, and widely available.
About the RoleWe’re hiring a Systems Integration and Test Engineer to bring our hardware, firmware, and software together into reliable, complete systems. You’ll own integration testing, find problems at the interfaces between components, and verify that assembled products meet their requirements before they leave our factory.
You’ll work closely with electrical, RF, FPGA, embedded systems, and software engineers. This is a hands-on role for someone who can trace a failure across disciplines, build a test setup that reproduces it, and work with the team to confirm the fix.
What You’ll DoIntegrate sensor hardware, embedded processors, firmware, networking, and application software into complete systems.
Develop system test plans and acceptance criteria based on product requirements.
Verify interfaces, data flow, timing, synchronization, and configuration across subsystems.
Build test fixtures, automated scripts, and diagnostic tools for repeatable integration and regression testing.
Test startup, shutdown, firmware updates, fault recovery, and behavior during power or network interruptions.
Measure system throughput, latency, data integrity, and stability under representative operating loads.
Debug failures across hardware and software, isolate root causes, and provide clear findings to the responsible engineers.
Maintain test configurations and records that identify hardware revisions, software versions, and results.
Work with manufacturing to develop end-of-line tests and clear pass/fail criteria for finished products.
Verify fixes and releases before production or customer deployment.
Work with field test and deployment engineers to reproduce issues found outside the lab and add them to test coverage.
What You’ll BringExperience integrating and testing products that combine electronics, embedded firmware, and software.
The ability to read schematics, understand system interfaces, and troubleshoot across hardware and software.
Proficiency in Python or a comparable language for test automation, diagnostics, and data analysis.
Experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, and other lab equipment.
Familiarity with embedded Linux, device logs, networking, and communications protocols.
Experience turning requirements into repeatable tests with clear acceptance criteria.
A disciplined approach to documenting failures, isolating root causes, and verifying fixes.
Clear communication and the ability to work across engineering and manufacturing teams.
Preferred ExperienceExperience with radar, RF, acoustic, or other sensing systems.
Familiarity with FPGA-based systems and high-speed data acquisition.
Experience developing production test stations, fixtures, or hardware-in-the-loop tests.
Experience with environmental testing, extended-duration testing, or reliability validation.
Familiarity with synchronized sensors, time stamping, and distributed systems.
Experience supporting hardware releases and troubleshooting deployed products.
A degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, systems engineering, or a related field.
