The purpose of the Second Piano Technician position at the University of Texas is to support the head piano technician in maintaining the highest quality of piano performance and functionality across campus facilities. This role ensures the university's pianos, used in concerts, classrooms, studios, and practice modules, are meticulously tuned, repaired, and reconditioned to meet the needs of students, faculty, and visiting artists.
By performing concert tunings, cosmetic repairs, part replacements, and bench reconditioning, as well as overseeing piano rentals and preparing instruments for University Interscholastic League (UIL) events, the Second Piano Technician contributes to the excellence of the university's music programs and enhances the overall experience of performers and audiences.
- Piano reconditioning, and installing new parts and strings.
- Perform concert tunings at TPA, or any specified concert venue, when needed.
- Perform cosmetic repairs on performance, and faculty studio pianos.
- Prepare and supervise piano rentals on UT Campus.
- Prepare pianos for UIL.
- Repair and recondition piano artist benches.

$56,900, fixed-rate
Working Conditions- May work nights, weekends, and occasional holidays.
