SummaryMaintain and improve the financial program that accurately presents the financial position of the Company. Ensure all internal (e.g. monthly financials, liquidity reports) and external reporting (e.g. external financial statements, tax returns, debt covenant compliance, etc.) are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
The role requires a sound understanding of the principles of accounting, tax and finance functions, including financial statement analysis/reporting, real estate accounting, partnership‑structured investments, and historical investment performance. This position has primary responsibility for the following job functions:
- Accounting and Finance operations
- Quarterly consolidated financial statement preparation and presentation
- Annual tax reporting oversight for all entities
- Review of partnership agreements and loan documents
- Financial planning and analysis
- Cash/Treasury management to protect the firm’s liquidity
- Debt management/compliance
- Investor reporting/distributions
- Investment performance tracking (realized and unrealized)
- Historical investment performance reporting
- Tax Strategy and Planning / FAS
- Coordinate with external property managers, external tax preparers, and external auditors
- Other duties as may be assigned at the discretion of the management team
- Interviewing, hiring, training employees, planning, assigning and directing work
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- CPA required
- 4–7 years’ experience
- Thorough knowledge of financial accounting/partnership accounting, financial reporting and analysis
- Experience with , Juniper Square and Quickbooks preferred
