Salary Range: $5,425.33 - $8,886.16 (Monthly)

Responsibilities
  • Develop financial objectives and strategies for the Provider Finance Department, including recurring financial analysis and reporting.
  • Lead on-going and special projects, meeting research and data analysis needs.
  • Coordinate and communicate within and across HHSC departments to establish project plans and meet project milestones.
  • Review, analyze, and evaluate the impact of legislation, regulations, and policies affecting Provider Finance.
  • Develop internal reports, briefing papers, and memorandums for executive management.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned to maintain efficient and effective agency operations.
Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited four‑year college or university with major coursework in public administration, business administration, finance, or a related field.
  • Related work experience may substitute for the required education on a year‑for‑year basis, with a maximum substitution of four years.
  • Experience with finance, business administration, and federal and state government finance and policy is preferred.
  • Experience communicating with legislative members and staff is preferred.
  • Knowledge of financial analysis, examination, and management.
  • Knowledge of the legislative appropriations process.
  • Skill in using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio; ability to draft executive‑level briefing documents.
  • Ability to perform and interpret numerical analyses, interpret statutes, analyze financial records, prepare reports, and provide guidance to others.
Location & Telework

Office location: 4601 W Guadelupe ST, Austin, TX 78751. The Provider Finance Department operates on a hybrid telework schedule; staff are required to work in the office two days per week.

Travel requirement: up to 5%.
