Job Summary:
The Technology Fin Ops Lead is responsible for establishing and leading an integrated financial management capability for CDW Technology, providing leaders with clear, consistent, and actionable visibility into Technology spend, consumption, capacity, and value. This role brings together existing software vendor management and sourcing responsibilities with financial management of contract labor, cloud consumption, AI consumption, managed services, global delivery resources, capitalization, and Technology investments.
The role will improve the predictability and transparency of Technology costs while simplifying, standardizing, and improving the underlying financial processes used to plan, track, allocate, forecast, and manage those costs. The Fin Ops Lead will partner closely with Technology leadership, Finance, Strategic Sourcing, engineering and infrastructure teams, and program leaders to understand what Technology is spending, why it is being spent, how that spend aligns with priorities, and where opportunities exist to optimize cost and improve value.
What you will do:
Assess current Technology financial processes and identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, automate, and strengthen controls. Design and implement scalable processes for budgeting, forecasting, time reporting, software and vendor spend, contract labor, capitalization, cost allocation, cloud consumption, AI consumption, and management reporting. Map current-state processes, identify gaps and failure points, and establish clear future-state workflows, ownership, decision rights, and controls. Reduce reliance on manual reconciliations, disconnected spreadsheets, inconsistent definitions, and one-off reporting processes.
Establish common financial taxonomies and definitions so Technology and Finance have a consistent view of costs, commitments, forecasts, and variances. Improve the flow and reconciliation of information between Technology operational processes and financial systems. Develop repeatable monthly and quarterly operating rhythms for reviewing forecasts, spend, commitments, risks, and opportunities. Identify opportunities to automate recurring reporting and financial processes using available data, analytics, and workflow capabilities.
Establish process documentation, metrics, and controls that improve data quality, timeliness, consistency, and accountability. Lead cross-functional improvement initiatives requiring coordination across Technology, Finance, Strategic Sourcing, vendors, and delivery teams. Measure whether redesigned processes are delivering tangible improvements in forecast predictability, reporting cycle time, data quality, financial visibility, cost control, and decision-making.
