The Texas Military Department (TMD) is commanded by The Adjutant General of Texas, the state's senior military official appointed by the governor, and is comprised of the Texas Military Department (State & Federal Civilian Employees), the Texas Army National Guard (TXARNG), the Texas Air National Guard (TXANG) and the Texas State Guard (TXSG).

Provide the Governor and the President with ready forces in support of state and federal authorities at home and abroad.

Performs complex (journey-level) telecommunications work. Work involves diagnosing and resolving voice and data telecommunications problems, installing, and operating telecommunications components. Reports to the J6 Spectrum Section Supervisor and works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Tuesday – Friday/Monday - Thursday, 40 Hours a week, 10-hour Days

• Implement cybersecurity protocols and physical safeguards to protect communication assets and sensitive transmissions.
• Collaborate with IT and cybersecurity teams to align telecommunications infrastructure with agency-wide security frameworks (e.g., National Institute of Standards and Technology [NIST], Criminal Justice Information Services [CJIS]).
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and apply mitigation strategies to prevent service disruptions or data breaches.
• Maintain documentation of system configurations, security controls, and change management activities.
• Support disaster recovery planning and continuity of operations through resilient system design.
