GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Performs routine (journey-level) quality assurance work. Work involves administering internal quality assurance and compliance for multiple databases within state and federal regulations. Verify accuracy, completeness, and validity of legal documents submitted by law enforcement and judicial entities. May train others. Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Reviews and analyzes applicant submissions, notes deficiencies, determines compliance with service delivery standards, as well as program requirements, policies and procedures.
2. Conducts quality control reviews of submissions, records on file, and documentation for accuracy and completeness in compliance with state and federal guidelines and regulations.
3. Serve as the point of contact/liaison for external entities. Communicates findings related to submissions and record reviews to appropriate local, state and federal agencies and the general public.
4. Interprets and disseminates information regarding rules, policies, regulations and procedures at a state and federal level. Ensure that the programs and systems are compliant as changes occur.
5. Assist in developing and implementing quality assurance policies, procedures and standards.
6. Monitor and analyze systems and examine various reports to identify, document, and report unusual trends or significant changes in crime or patterns of errors in reporting of crime data.
7. Produce reports, provide analysis and respond to Public Information Requests as needed.
8. Work with vendors and internal resources to ensure processes and systems are functional and effective.
9. Attend work regularly and observe approved work hours in accordance with agency leave and attendance policies.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent is required. Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in criminal justice or a related field is preferred.
Experience - Minimum of three (3) years experience in criminal history records, auditing, compliance or quality assurance work.

Note:
Education of the type described may be substituted for the experience requirement, with two (2) years of education equivalent to one (1) year of work experience.
Licensure and/or Certification - As needed, must possess or obtain CJIS secure systems certification obtained through a TXDPS training course within 6 months of employment. Driving is required, must possess a valid driver license from state of residence.
Critical Organizational Infrastructure requirements - This job may be responsible for conducting research on, working on, or having the ability to access critical organizational infrastructure; must be able to maintain the security and integrity of the infrastructure related to this role. Additionally, and more specifically, must not be employed by nor have any connection or continuous connections to any governmental entity or political apparatus of a country listed in 15 C.F.R. §791.4.
Regulatory knowledge - Working knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly assimilate information related to TXDPS, State, and Federal regulations, legislation, guidelines, policies and procedures, and as specifically related to the maintenance, processing, retention, confidentiality and dissemination of databases related to position.
Interpersonal Skills - Must demonstrate an ability to exercise poise, tact, diplomacy and an ability to establish and maintain positive, working/professional relationships with internal/external customers.
