The Senior Director, Medical & Scientific Affairs – Women’s Health & Oncology is responsible for setting the vision and strategic direction for the disease area and leading daily business operations support related to product development and clinical research, product quality, compliance, commercial/marketing activities and customer interactions. This senior role assists the Chief Medical Officer as the medical representative of Beckman to external partners and professional societies.

This disease area is a key focus area for Beckman Coulter, providing the successful candidate an exciting opportunity to build and grow the disease area leadership, ultimately impacting patient outcomes. The Senior Director will partner as a thought leader and Beckman Coulter representative with senior external customers, bringing our technology, patient focus, and commitment message to the market.

Women’s Health and Oncology are major areas of focus for Beckman due to the recent global launches and upcoming launches of key assays, such as AMH, pre-eclampsia, Prostate Health index (PHI), etc. There are various existing markers in addition to the novel markets requiring a deep clinical understanding it is clinical utility.

This role may be fully remote, working remotely to cover a global business area. Beckman Coulter has a major site presence in South Florida, Southern California, Hebron Kentucky, and Minneapolis Minnesota, as well as major hubs in Europe and Asia.

• Steer collaborative efforts between business leaders and research team to define clinical research priorities for product development, regulatory submissions, and marketing, based on intended clinical applications, business, and regulatory strategy
• Identify, coach, and develop a team of professionals (field associate director of MSLs and a global associate director)
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders across matrix organizations, sharing information, active collective goal achievement, open risk / reward / resource discussions, and developing talent within and outside of the Med Sci function
• Establish and cultivate strategic academic partners suited for future research and innovation; identify key opinion leaders and build a strategy for KOL management for respective medical team members and communicate and translate clinical/scientific insights and research concepts from KOLs into actionable guidance for product development teams
