• Provide evidence-based nutrition counseling to patients on modified diets.
• Conduct nutritional screenings and assessments of patients.
• Collaborate with physicians to coordinate and implement nutritional recommendations.
• Identify and communicate potential nutritional implications of medications and document this information in patients' records.
• Assist the Food Service Department Dietary Aides with patient food selection and which foods are allowed and disallowed based on the prescribed diet.

• Clinical nutrition experience in an acute care hospital setting with emphasis on diabetes, cardiac, ICU, and geriatric patients – preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nutrition or Dietetics with successful completion of ADA approved internship or coordinated undergraduate program with hospital specific experience.
• Registered Dietitian (R.D.) credential or eligible with the Commission on Dietetic Registration within 3 months of employment.
• Licensed Dietitian (L.D.) with the Texas State Board of Examiners of Dieticians within 6 months of employment.
