PATIENT TRANSPORTER (FULL TIME AND PART TIME)

Join TouchPoint Support Services as a PATIENT TRANSPORTER. The position is available on a full‑time and part‑time basis at Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin, 1201 West 38th Street, Austin, TX 78705. Online applications are accepted only.

Schedule:

Monday through Friday, with rotating weekends. Hours may vary based on patient needs. Prior patient experience is preferred. Pay ranges from $16.00 to $17.00 per hour.

Responsible for the safe, timely, and accurate transport of patients, medical equipment, and related items within the hospital. The role ensures patient comfort and safety while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.

• Properly and safely transport patients, securing IVs, drainage tubes, and other required equipment.
• Use wheelchairs and approved rolling stock to carry out transportation duties.
• Demonstrate competency in transporting patients of all age groups.
• Ensure the safe, timely, and accurate transport of patients to their destination using the requested equipment.
• Communicate effectively with nursing personnel, clinicians, technicians, reception, and dispatch.
• Attend to patient comfort by offering blankets, checking modesty, and engaging in appropriate conversation; avoid transporting patients in severe pain.
• Alert nursing staff immediately to any signs of patient distress or equipment malfunction.
• Maintain equipment and report items that require repairs.
• Comply with regulatory agency standards, including federal, state, and JCAHO, as well as facility confidentiality and patient rights policies under HIPAA.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
