Patient Services Representative – Texas Oncology
Full‑time, Monday‑Friday, 8:30 am‑5:00 pm (no weekends, calls, or major holidays). This role may be Level 1, 2 or Senior based on experience.

As a member of the US Oncology Network, Texas Oncology delivers high‑quality, evidence‑based cancer care to patients across Texas. Your work helps patients and families navigate insurance and financial matters while supporting our mission to provide accessible, community‑based cancer care.
Responsibilities- Collect, verify, and enter patient insurance and demographic information accurately and promptly.
- Gather co‑pays, deductibles, and other out‑of‑pocket amounts at the time of visit.
- Confirm insurance verification and eligibility; obtain pre‑authorization of services and/or referrals.
- Advising patients and families on insurance benefits, co‑pays, and financial obligations.
- Post line items and adjustments to patient accounts; reconcile daily batches and prepare audit trails.
- Review Explanation of Benefits for consistency and submit claims for payment.
- Research and resolve claim delays; resubmit claims as needed.
- Resolve patient questions and complaints regarding insurance billing and adjust accounts accordingly.
- Follow‑up on assigned accounts; use collection techniques to keep accounts current.
- Set up financial arrangements with patients when necessary.
- Assist patients with researching and obtaining community resources such as housing, transportation, and financial support.
- Support and adhere to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
- Level 1 – High‑school diploma or equivalent; 0‑3 years medical business office experience; bilingual in English & Spanish preferred; oncology experience preferred.
- Level 2 – Minimum 3‑5 years medical business office experience (in addition to Level 1 requirements).
- Senior – Minimum 5 years medical business office experience (in addition to Levels 1 and
2).
Employee regularly required to sit and use hands; occasionally required to stand, walk, reach, and lift up to 30 pounds. Adequate vision and hearing (corrected to normal) are required.
Work EnvironmentRequires frequent interaction with patients and staff; the environment is patient‑centered and team‑oriented.
