Position SummaryRadiology Technologist is responsible for maintaining local, State, Federal, and accrediting bodies’ regulations and compliance of the facility's Radiology Department. All Radiology Technologists working at the facility will be under the direct supervision of the Lead Radiology Technologist. Each Lead Radiology Technologist will have the additional responsibilities in addition to their daily Radiology Technologist duties to include assisting with hiring, training, orienting, coaching, counseling, evaluating, and scheduling of other Radiology Technologists.
Responsibilities- Operate CAT SCAN equipment to produce Computed Tomography (CT) scans of the body for diagnostic purposes, as directed by the Physician in accordance with the Radiologist protocol.
- Administer and obtain consent for contrast (IV and oral), while being aware of possible reactions and side effects.
- Complete appropriate paperwork and ensure proper documentation in patients’ charts.
- Ensure patient safety and high-quality diagnostic exams.
- Perform additional patient care duties as needed, including starting IVs, drawing blood, operating lab testing equipment, running patient samples, changing beds, cleaning rooms, and stocking linens.
- Support patient care by resolving radiology issues with physicians, radiologists, radiology technologists, and ancillary staff; contribute to quality assurance for department functions.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and adhere to regulations and ER policies and procedures pertaining to safety, emergency preparedness, infection control, OSHA, fire safety, and hazardous materials.
- Participate in performance improvement activities as necessary.
- Graduate of an accredited approved school of Radiologic Technology
- At least 2 years of radiologic/imaging experience and CT experience
- Current State licensure (Required)
- Current BCLS Certification (Required)
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (Preferred)
- Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation
