Job Summary

Position: Nutrition Operator (full time)
Location: Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin, 1201 West 38th Street, Austin, TX 78705

• Secure patient meal selections and special requests via telephone or face-to-face interactions.
• Follow proper telephone etiquette and procedures with patients, visitors, and healthcare professionals.
• Offer alternatives to menu as allowed on prescribed diet for patients with food allergies, sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, and religious preferences.
• Respond to patient needs at all times; resolve patient concerns or complaints immediately and/or report needed assistance to supervisor as appropriate.
• Comply with dietary restrictions on special or modified diets to ensure optimal food preferences within diet order limitations.
• Interact with nursing to ensure patients diet prescriptions are accurate and patients food needs are met.
• Adhere to facility confidentiality and patients rights policy and HIPAA procedures.
• Comply with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
• Follow HACCP guidelines when assembling and distributing food supplies.
• Complete all daily, weekly, or monthly reports on time meeting all prescribed deadlines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Prior experience in customer service and hospitality.
• Open availability for rotating weekends.
• Knowledge of food service regulations preferred.

Full time; days and hours may vary, rotating weekends, open availability. Pay: $18.50 – $19.50 per hour.
