Responsibilities- Accountable for performing day-to-day non‑clinical pharmacy operations and administrative activities, ensuring efficient workflow and a positive patient experience. Acts as a full‑time certified pharmacy technician.
- Operate pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. Under pharmacist supervision, supervise pharmacy technicians and cashiers in accordance with company policies, laws, and regulations.
- Select, schedule, and develop pharmacy technician personnel; lead training, coaching, and performance management, including discipline and termination decisions.
- Engage customers by greeting them, offering assistance, resolving complaints, and addressing non‑clinical questions to ensure a positive experience.
- Assist pharmacist in patient care: registration, prescription data entry, medication preparation, counting, verification, and, where allowed by law, vaccine administration and health screenings.
- Delegate, direct, and assign non‑clinical work while ensuring timely completion and accountability for efficient workflow.
- Prepare and file required reports and records for the company and government agencies.
- Drive excellence in pharmacy operations: coordinate daily schedule, recommend workforce allocation, maintain a clean and well‑stocked pharmacy, and manage inventory, including annual preparation.
- Implement new technology and process roll‑outs, champion change, and engage the team in planning and execution.
- Adhere to Good Faith Dispensing policies and maintain knowledge of asset protection techniques, supporting the Pharmacy Manager with monitoring and reporting.
- Communicate prescription errors to the pharmacist and follow company policies for error management and continuous quality improvement.
- Process insurance claims accurately, resolve customer issues, and follow up with insurers and providers, including participation in third‑party audits.
- Assist Store and Pharmacy Managers in analyzing and improving pharmacy financials, operational quality, and customer service.
- Manage the Community Outreach Portal, coordinate off‑site immunization clinics, and build relationships with retail partners.
- Lead performance management of technicians, follow constructive discipline policies, and ensure compliance with attendance and timeliness requirements.
- Hire, onboard, train, and schedule technicians, ensuring timely training completion and adherence to company policies.
- Identify knowledge gaps among team members and support training needs through hands‑on instruction or learning modules.
- Monitor licensure, registration, and certification status of pharmacy personnel, using Walgreens verification systems to ensure compliance.
- Maintain PTCB certification and pursue continuing education, certifications, and training required by the company.
- Seek professional development through performance monitoring, constructive feedback, and mentorship.
- Communicate with the pharmacy team, relay messages from support centers, and attend key store/pharmacy meetings.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
- One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire (except in Community Specialty Pharmacy and Health System Pharmacy locations).
- Previous people management or leadership experience.
- Previous work experience with Walgreens and an Exceeding Expectation rating on the last performance evaluation.

The actual hourly salary within this range that you will be offered will depend on a variety of factors including geography, skills and abilities, education, experience and other relevant factors.
