• Coordinate services and activities specific to the MFM Ultrasound Department.
• Monitor all technical and clerical functions, ensuring efficient patient throughput and effective utilization of equipment and human resources based on patient load.
• Maintain Performance Improvement and Quality Control activities.
• Follow all established Ultrasound and hospital policies and procedures.
• Implement a procedure plan that falls within established protocols.
• Lead and oversee the MFM department to ensure quality of work.
• Accountable for MFM Ultrasound Department functions and responsibilities.
• Contribute to the effective management of the MFM Ultrasound Department.
• Provide diagnostic patient care services for routine and high‑risk obstetrical cases using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures.
• Maintain advanced knowledge of fetal conditions, anomalies, and high‑risk maternal factors.

• Five years’ experience as a Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonographer.
• Graduate of an educational program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• Associate’s degree or higher in a related technological field – preferred.
• Current certification with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
• Certification with ARDMS in Obstetrics (OB).
• Fetal Nuchal Translucency and Nasal Bone Certification through the Fetal Medicine Foundation. If not obtained through the FMF, employee has one (1) year from hire date to convert to FMF credentialing. If previously held certification lapses, employee has three months post expiration to renew license; during this time the employee is only allowed to scan applicable exams with a certified NT or NB preceptor.
• Fetal Echocardiography (FE) through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
• BLS Certification.
