Responsibilities
Lead Therapist provides psychotherapy, case management and discharge planning to patients and families; assists the Director of Clinical Services with training and oversight of clinical staff; contributes to effective leadership and communication; and covers for the Director in their absence.
Position SummaryAs a key member of Austin Oaks Hospital, the Lead Therapist works in an 80‑bed facility offering inpatient and outpatient services for adults and adolescents, including medical detox and women’s programs. The role supports the hospital’s mission to deliver compassionate, knowledgeable care within the UHS network and enjoys a collaborative environment.
Qualifications- Education: Master’s degree in Behavioral Health field.
- Licensure & Certification: Licensed by the State of Texas in Social Work, Counseling or Marriage and Family Therapy; LMSW (currently in LCSW supervision), LPC‑A or LMFT‑A required; LCSW, LPC or LMFT preferred.
- Experience: One to three years of work experience providing individual, group and family therapy, case management and discharge planning in an inpatient or outpatient psychiatric facility; familiarity with ethical and legal issues regarding reporting of abuse and neglect.
