Austin Cosmetic Surgery is seeking an experienced, highly organized Medical Assistant to join our cosmetic surgery and aesthetic medicine team. This position is ideal for an MA who thrives in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment and understands the elevated level of service, discretion, and attention to detail expected in a cosmetic surgery practice.
Experience- 3-5 years of Medical Assistant experience required
- Strong preference given to candidates with previous experience in a plastic surgery, cosmetic surgery, dermatology, med spa, or aesthetic medicine practice
- Experience supporting surgical patients through pre-operative and post-operative care is highly preferred
- Room patients and prepare them for surgical, aesthetic, and wellness appointments
- Obtain and document vitals, medications, medical history, and relevant patient information
- Assist providers during consultations, follow-up visits, procedures, and treatments
- Support pre-operative and post-operative patient care
- Prepare exam and procedure rooms and maintain appropriate clinical supplies
- Take standardized clinical and before-and-after photography
- Assist with patient education and post-treatment instructions
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR
- Coordinate labs, prescriptions, medical clearances, and other clinical documentation
- Maintain appropriate infection-control and sterilization standards
- Help ensure efficient patient flow throughout the practice
- Provide an exceptional, professional patient experience from arrival through follow-up
- Work closely with our surgeons, nursing team, patient coordinators, and aesthetic providers
We are looking for someone who is experienced, polished, proactive, dependable, and exceptionally detail-oriented. Our ideal MA anticipates what the provider and patient need rather than waiting to be asked.
You should be comfortable working with surgical patients, maintaining patient confidentiality, communicating professionally, and managing multiple priorities in a busy clinical environment.
Schedule32-40 hours per week
Candidates must have the flexibility to work within the needs of a cosmetic surgery practice and collaborate closely with both clinical and administrative team members.
