Field Services Engineer

Impact is hiring a Field Services Engineer to deliver top‑tier IT service, support, and implementation for our national managed services operation.

Responsibilities
  • Engage in Business Transformation Assessments (BTA) with onsite discovery and documentation of IT assets.
  • Support client technical activities onsite, collaborating with the Field Services Manager and resolving core MIT networking, server, and computer technologies.
  • Set up and troubleshoot Windows Server, Hyper‑V, VMWare, Exchange, SharePoint, firewalls, switches, BDR solutions, Power Shell, Active Directory, Group Policy, and cloud services such as Office 365, G‑Suite, and Azure.
  • Collaborate with the Service Desk and Operations teams to develop and execute client maintenance plans.
  • Work with client vendors on technical requirements as needed.
  • Document and resolve user computing issues onsite, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Work with the Technical Operations Center to resolve user issues following a structured problem management process.
  • Coordinate with third‑party vendors, line‑of‑business application providers, and other Impact divisions to provide efficient field support.
  • Timely document all issues and onsite labor within Impact’s ticket system.
  • Participate in ongoing training and pursue manufacturer certifications.
  • Cultivate customer relationships, fostering a positive reputation for Impact.
  • Maintain vendor contacts that benefit the company.
  • Adhere to documentation standards for customer network status and activities.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant IT field services experience.
    • Fundamental understanding of Server Administration and Windows 2012‑2022 Server.
    • Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Remote Desktop Services management.
    • Experience with VMWare, Hyper‑V, and other virtualization technologies.
    • Storage solutions: SAN, NAS, Shared Storage.
    • Fundamental understanding of firewalls, switches, and networking technologies.
    • Cisco Meraki, HP, and other network technologies.
    • Backup technologies.
    • Office 365, Azure, and other cloud solutions.
    • Mobile operating systems (iOS, Android, Windows).
    • RMM tools such as N‑Able, Kaseya, or Lab Tech.
  • MSP experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience (preferred):
    • ITIL and Service Management.
    • Knowledge of HaloPSA Platform.
    • Event and incident management systems support.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer‑service focus.
    • Excellent problem‑solving and initiative.
    • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Education/

    Certifications:
    • Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
    • Microsoft Fundamentals certification.
    • Additional certifications such as:
      • CompTIA Network+, A+, Security+, ITF+.
      • Microsoft 365 Certified:
        Fundamentals.
