Role: UI/UX Designer
Location:
Austin, TX - Onsite
Duration: 18+ Months
The User Experience and Design Team delivers software design across mobile, web, and desktop platforms. As a multi-disciplinary group—UX designers, visual designers, researchers, and content writers—we collaborate with business and technology partners to build best-in-class user experiences. We practice user-centered design to help clients achieve their financial goals.
Key Responsibilities- Design Consulting
- Lead design reviews and guide design decisions.
- Create high-quality design solutions with cross-functional teams.
- Represent the UX brand and ensure a consistent design process.
- Approach design iteratively and embrace continuous improvement.
- Visualize concepts through sketches, diagrams, wireframes, and prototypes with clear documentation.
- Uphold high design standards and deliver expert-level work.
- Conduct core design activities, create deliverables, and perform design QA.
- Participate in user research and usability testing.
- Continuously refine design processes for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
- Work seamlessly with partners across the enterprise.
- Support and mentor UX team members.
- Listen to feedback strategically and adapt designs accordingly.
- Maintain a collaborative, open-minded, and mission-driven approach.
- Bring passion and enthusiasm for UX and user-centered thinking.
- Understand and anticipate user needs through research and observation.
- Focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
- Stay current with design theory, tools, and industry best practices.
- You will directly support Registered Independent Advisors who depend on our tools to manage their business and clients' financial lives.
- Your research and design decisions will influence how users engage with products.
- You will balance functionality and complexity for a widely used platform.
- You will join a collaborative, learning-focused design team.
- 11+ years of interaction design experience for digital products.
- Experience designing for touch-based mobile interfaces (1+ year preferred).
- A strong online portfolio showcasing design thinking and process.
- Expertise in user-centered design methods: user research, flows, wireframes, usability testing, and annotated specifications.
- Experience working in Agile, iterative environments within multi-disciplinary teams.
- Strong self-management skills with the ability to own work streams and schedules.
- Proficiency in Sketch, Figma, InVision, and other modern design tools.
- Experience leading design sessions with cross-functional teams.
- Strong relationship-building skills across teams and organizational levels.
- A positive attitude, adaptability, and solid work ethic in a project-oriented environment.
