About The Role
Cloudflare Workers started in 2017 and has evolved from a functions-as-a-service option to a full-stack platform. This role focuses on expanding Runtime APIs to support a broader set of standards and runtimes, including TC39 standards, Node.js APIs, and web standards. The team aims to grow a shared base of APIs across runtimes and ease support for multiple runtimes in open-source projects.
What You’ll Do
- Drive the strategy and roadmap for JavaScript APIs in the Cloudflare Workers Runtime
- Lead new APIs from ideation through launch and ongoing maintenance
- Guide internal and external teams on developing new JavaScript APIs in Workers, including first-party Cloudflare products and external libraries
- Develop and nurture external relationships with open-source maintainers
- Partner with Product Marketing, Marketing, Community & Developer Advocacy, Sales, and Customer Support to drive adoption and gather feedback
- Ruthlessly prioritize across diverse customers and stakeholders
- Represent the company externally as needed (customers, events, Winter
CG, etc.)
Desirable Skills, Knowledge And Experience
The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and communicates effectively with diverse groups. You are execution-focused and detail-oriented.
- Proven track record of shipping developer-facing products from ideation to launch; 3+ years of professional experience
- Strong knowledge of JavaScript, the NPM ecosystem, and web standards
- Developer-focused, often working directly with customers’ teams to support initial implementations
- Strong technical abilities; able to understand engineering decisions and drive the product at both detailed and strategic levels
- A commitment to shipping great developer experiences
- Comfort talking with developers at organizations of all sizes to build relevant products
