Oncology Technician Supervisor

AVES is growing rapidly. We are looking for a supervisor to lead our oncology team.

As an Oncology Supervisor you will lead a veterinary technician team, manage clinical duties, foster a professional environment, and provide technical support across the oncology service.

• $28–$35 hourly, based on experience

• Full Time
  • 4x10 hour shifts
  • Day shifts
  • Weekends may be required

• Leadership:
  Act as a direct representative of AVES technical staff and ensure a professional work environment.
• Direct Supervision:
  Ensure staff fulfill duties and maintain exceptional communication.
• Technical Support:
  Provide technical support as needed and manage primary oncology case management.
• Review technician training binders and assign new goals monthly.
• Monitor professional development via performance reviews.
• Delegate daily responsibilities and coordinate monthly departmental meetings.
• Engage doctors frequently to obtain real‑time feedback on departmental functionality.

• Develop staff work schedules and collaborate with managers for coverage.
• Interview, hire, train, review, and terminate department staff.
• Ensure staff follow appropriate policies and procedures.
• Generate and update standard operating procedures semiannually.
• Collaborate with Education Department and facilitate continuing education.
• Contribute to hospital cleaning schedule with other supervisors.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVT) preferred but not required.
• At least 2 years of supervisory or lead veterinary technician experience required.
