Oncology Technician Supervisor
AVES is growing rapidly. We are looking for a supervisor to lead our oncology team.
OverviewAs an Oncology Supervisor you will lead a veterinary technician team, manage clinical duties, foster a professional environment, and provide technical support across the oncology service.
Compensation- $28–$35 hourly, based on experience
- Full Time
- 4x10 hour shifts
- Day shifts
- Weekends may be required
- Leadership:
Act as a direct representative of AVES technical staff and ensure a professional work environment. - Direct Supervision:
Ensure staff fulfill duties and maintain exceptional communication. - Technical Support:
Provide technical support as needed and manage primary oncology case management. - Review technician training binders and assign new goals monthly.
- Monitor professional development via performance reviews.
- Delegate daily responsibilities and coordinate monthly departmental meetings.
- Engage doctors frequently to obtain real‑time feedback on departmental functionality.
- Develop staff work schedules and collaborate with managers for coverage.
- Interview, hire, train, review, and terminate department staff.
- Ensure staff follow appropriate policies and procedures.
- Generate and update standard operating procedures semiannually.
- Collaborate with Education Department and facilitate continuing education.
- Contribute to hospital cleaning schedule with other supervisors.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVT) preferred but not required.
- At least 2 years of supervisory or lead veterinary technician experience required.
