The Opportunity

Our analytics community has hundreds of analytics professionals across Ally in communities focused on business analytics, data science, R, Python, Power BI and more and continues to grow every day.

As you read this, our Technology and Digital organization is deploying our new Cloud Computing platform to accelerate and expand our digital capability. We're looking for a passionate analytics professional with great communication skills for our . This person will execute quantitative analysis and problem solving to develop in-depth business-relevant insights, scenario based assumptions and forward-looking analysis. Utilizes data from databases, internal reports, market/business trends, and/or financial statements in analysis.

Plays integral role in strategy development and associated risk management. They will also mentor developing analytics professionals and connect with other analytics teams to build capability. The Work Itself

In this role you will help us make data driven decisions by:

• Independently interfacing with key stakeholders to provide timely and accurate analysis that drive business objectives and targets
• Performs analysis to drive change within the business
• Identify, quantify and propose risk/reward trade-off of recommendations
• Developing strategy and associated performance analysis that achieve business objects and results
• Apply knowledge of business and balanced judgment in interpretation of data
• Provide analytical and data support in the design and review of strategy tests and current operations
• Leading analytics projects which require technical sophistication and the ability to navigate ambiguity
• Performing ad hoc analysis and quickly provide results and recommendations
• Engage in a culture of Diversity and Inclusion

The Skills You Bring

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field - Finance, Economics, Analytics , Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics
• 3+ years' experience in similar advanced analytics position
• 3+ years’ experience using SQL, Python, SAS or similar tools to mine and analyze large data sets
• 2+ years’ experience in building statistical models and deriving business strategies leveraging the models
• 2+ years’ experience developing business strategies based on data analyses
• Demonstrated ability to initiate, develop and execute small to medium scale projects
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively present material
• Work well within a team of analysts and collaborate with individuals with technical and non-technical backgrounds

Preferred

• Master’s degree in business or quantitative field
• Experience in automotive or financial services industry
• Experience with designing and implementing champion challenger strategies
