The Data Analytics Engineering Manager leads the development and modernization of the agency’s enterprise data platforms. This role oversees data pipelines, architecture, and analytics environments to ensure high-quality, reliable data is available for reporting, operational insights, and emerging AI capabilities. The position plays a key part in advancing the agency’s data strategy by implementing scalable cloud and hybrid data solutions that support mission-critical work.

Working closely with engineering, operations, product, and security teams, this role drives improvements in data quality, integration, and automation across systems. The manager establishes engineering standards, enhances analytics tooling, and ensures data processes align with statewide technology and security requirements.

This is a hands‑on leadership position that combines technical expertise with strategic direction. The Data Analytics Engineering Manager helps shape how the agency uses data, ensuring dependable and scalable data services that empower employees, improve public service delivery, and strengthen the agency’s long‑term technology posture.

• Technical and Analytical Leadership:
  Oversees the development and application of analytical, visualization, and AI tools to support data‑driven decision‑making. Provides hands‑on technical leadership to ensure analytical environments, AI capabilities, and self‑service data tools are reliable, accessible, and aligned with agency needs.
• Data Architecture and Platform Engineering:
  Leads the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise data architecture, including data modeling, warehousing, lakehouse platforms, and supporting infrastructure. Ensures platforms are scalable, secure, and optimized for performance while supporting advanced analytics and interoperability.
• Data Integration, Quality, and Interoperability:
  Directs the development and maintenance of scalable data pipelines and data integration processes that support efficient ingestion, transformation, and delivery. Ensures data quality through automated validation, cleansing, and enrichment workflows and oversees metadata, master data, and reference data governance to maintain consistency and trust in agency data assets.
• Strategic Alignment and Value Creation:
  Collaborates with agency leadership to define and advance data and AI strategies that support mission outcomes, transparency, and operational efficiency. Identifies opportunities for analytics and AI to improve services and resource allocation and translates policy priorities into measurable performance metrics, dashboards, and decision‑support tools.
• Cloud Data Modernization and Infrastructure:
  Guides modernization efforts by architecting and evolving cloud‑based data environments and hybrid infrastructures. Establishes cloud strategies for storage, processing, and analytics that align with performance, cost, and compliance requirements. Ensures data security, resilience, and disaster‑recovery capabilities across platforms.
• Team Leadership and Talent Development:
