Senior Risk & Compliance Engineer – Privacy
At Atlassian, we are looking for a Senior Risk & Compliance Engineer – Privacy to implement and manage our privacy compliance strategy within the broader Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) framework.

- Deliver privacy compliance expertise and innovation, providing guidance to teams and promoting the adoption of industry‑leading privacy methodologies to ensure privacy by design and by default.
- Leverage data analytics and visualization, deriving actionable insights from privacy compliance data.
- Promote automation and tooling, encouraging the use of the latest privacy compliance tools.
- Proactively identify and mitigate privacy risks, developing comprehensive strategies to address gaps and regulatory concerns.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to implement privacy controls and best practices.
- Regularly evaluate and report on the effectiveness of privacy controls to enable continuous improvement.
- Influence and align stakeholders to integrate privacy considerations into business decisions.
- Stay informed on privacy regulatory developments and maintain compliance with regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, APPI, and LGPD.
- 7+ years’ experience in privacy, data protection, or compliance, preferably in a large‑scale SaaS/Post‑Product environment.
- Expertise in privacy compliance‑focused roles and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, APPI, LGPD).
- Experience in privacy risk management and governance frameworks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to explain complex privacy concepts to stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience providing subject‑matter expertise and guidance on privacy matters.
- Experience collaborating with internal/external audit, legal, and leadership teams.
- Solid knowledge of privacy compliance principles, risk strategies, and IT governance frameworks.
- Relevant certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM, or CIPT are beneficial.
- Experience with privacy impact assessments, data mapping, and privacy‑by‑design practices.
