We are seeking an experienced People Soft Business Analyst for a hybrid contract in Austin, TX.

Responsibilities:

This role is functional in nature and will not require hands‑on coding; the role will however, require enough technical acumen to research problems in the legacy system using People Tools/Code, SQL, etc. The candidate will be expected to demonstrate their knowledge and skills in both the functional and technical aspects of People Soft.

The role will also require heavy Functional Analyst skills. In addition, the candidate must have solid experience working in an Agile/SCRUM environment as part of a data conversion team to include the mapping of data fields and performing root‑cause analysis in the legacy People Soft application identifying the cause of data problems in the system.

Functional Responsibilities:

The worker must have impeccable oral and written communication skills, solid experience with the integration of the core modules within the People Soft HRMS 8.8 application (HRMS, Base Benefits, Benefits Administration, Pension Administration, Payroll), including experience researching processing requirements between other systems – both upstream and downstream. This worker must be equally confident conversing with top level management and developers. Finally, the worker must be confident having detailed conversations with the users at the functional level, with developers at the technical level, and be able to accurately read People Code, write SQL, and analyze data.

The ideal candidate would have experience on data conversion projects; has been a hands‑on project team lead, and have substantial experience as a functional resource in Benefits Administration, Payroll, or Pension Administration modules. The worker’s experience would include past development work and would be functional in recent years. Additionally, the Worker would have past development experience with People Soft code, SQL, Application Engine and SQR programs and have the ability to determine how a page or Application Engine is processing data.

• 5+ years experience utilizing Agile Methodologies
• 6+ years experience gathering requirements towards changes the People Soft application
• 6+ years of Demonstrated current hands‑on functional experience in one or more of the following People Soft modules:
• 8+ years of Solid understanding of technical aspects of the People Soft application
• 5+ years of Strong SQL skills, ability to write and execute advanced SQL in both Oracle and SQL Server
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel
• 10+ years experience working in Information Technology

• Past experience as a developer in one or more of the following People Soft modules:
• Solid People Tools skills, including Application Engine, People Code, and SQR
• Ability to manage a Scrum or Kanban team
• Experience with Microsoft Azure Dev Ops preferred
• Experience in having worked on prior implementations/conversions from a legacy People Soft application
• Experience with Defined Benefit Pension Plans preferred
• Defined Benefit Pension Plan knowledge to understand data requirements and use
• Experience with Base Benefits or Benefits Administration systems
• Experience with Pension Administration systems
• Experience with Payroll Systems
• Provide expert troubleshooting for isolating functional / technical problems
