The HR Data and Reporting Analyst supports HR Operations by analyzing workforce data and developing accurate, actionable reports and dashboards across Workday HCM, Recruiting, Payroll, Benefits, and Learning. This role translates business reporting needs into reliable data solutions, validates results, identifies trends, and provides operational insights to HR leaders and business stakeholders. The position works closely with HRIS and HR functional teams when reporting needs involve system configuration, security, integrations, or technical troubleshooting.
Job Responsibilities- Gather and clarify reporting and data requirements from HR leaders, functional teams, and business stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain standard and ad hoc Workday reports.
- Create and maintain calculated fields to support reporting requirements.
- Validate report logic, data accuracy, and reporting results.
- Reconcile data across HR processes and investigate discrepancies.
- Monitor data quality and collaborate with HR teams to resolve reporting and data issues.
- Analyze workforce trends and key HR metrics to identify meaningful insights.
- Develop dashboards, recurring reports, and other data deliverables for HR Operations and business leaders.
- Document report definitions, data sources, procedures, and quality-control processes.
- Coordinate with HRIS on system configuration, security changes, integrations, and technical issues when needed.
- Support audits and compliance-related reporting.
- Test and validate new or revised reports from a business-user perspective.
- Handle confidential employee information in accordance with applicable data security and privacy requirements.
- Present analytical findings clearly to business partners and stakeholders.
- Develop guidance and job aids to help users interpret and effectively use HR data.
- Respond to time-sensitive HR reporting and data requests.
- Demonstrated experience analyzing HR data and developing reports, dashboards, and data deliverables that support HR operations and business decisions.
- Hands-on experience with Workday reporting tools, including custom reports and calculated fields.
- Working knowledge of HR data across HCM, Recruiting, Payroll, Benefits, and Learning.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookup functions, formulas, and data analysis.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data validation skills.
- Ability to identify trends, investigate discrepancies, and communicate findings clearly.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to handle confidential employee information with sound judgment and discretion.
- Experience partnering with HRIS on system-related questions or technical issues is preferred.
- Experience with SQL, Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting, database querying, or data visualization tools is preferred.
- Familiarity with data governance, reporting documentation, and quality-control practices is preferred.
- Direct Workday configuration or HRIS administration experience is not required.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, or a related field preferred.
