Luna Data Solutions has an immediate contract position opening for a Network Administrator/Engineer resource with our public sector industry client located in Austin, TX.

* This is a hybrid role, in which this resource will work onsite 2 to 3 days/week, and remotely the other part of the week.

Role:
Network Administrator/Engineer

Key Activities/Responsibilities:

• Performs hands‑on network administration focused on complex, high‑risk, or enterprise‑impact operational tasks and changes.
• Maintains enterprise network documentation and provides technical leadership through guidance and consultation rather than formal supervision.
• Provides expert consultation on network design, enhancements, and integration to support agency initiatives and future needs.
• Leads resolution of critical or recurring network issues, providing expert troubleshooting and guiding root cause analysis and preventive actions.
• Analyzes network performance and capacity trends, leading optimization and improvement initiatives.
• Defines, enforces, and evolves network security standards, operational policies, and governance practices across network environments.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 6 years of advanced network operations and support experience.
• Minimum of 6 years of Enterprise incident response & problem management experience.
• Minimum of 6 years of network architecture & design consultation experience.
• Minimum of 6 years of network performance, capacity & optimization experience.
• Minimum of 6 years of network security, standards & governance experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Network documentation & technical leadership experience.
