Job Description
This position is open to U.S. Citizens and permanent residents.
This hybrid role requires the selected candidate to work from an HHS office in Austin, Texas.
Performs complex computer programming work. Work involves assisting with planning and the assignment of programming projects, analyzing proposed computer applications, and providing technical programming and support assistance. Reviews, analyzes, and modifies programming systems including encoding, testing, debugging and documenting programs. Assists technical support staff in the implementation of new software systems. Performs maintenance and technical support for existing and emergency agency external and internal websites, applications and assets in the configuration and maintenance of the agency’s system environments.
Writes computer code to implement IT solutions and performs testing of IT solutions through details integration and system testing. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.
- Performs the tasks necessary for the development of deliverables and support by coding, testing, and debugging programs while developing and executing tests for applications developed solutions. Coordinates the preparation of instructions for use during production runs. Coordinates the preparation and development of instructions or manuals for end users. Analyzes proposed computer applications in terms of equipment requirements and capabilities. (40%)
- Provides technical support and analysis related to programming activities. Provides business process analysis for design support to business processes and interfaces with integral departments and external agencies and service providers. Coordinates the research of automation techniques to improve computer system performance. Plans and coordinates programming projects within a particular project. Provides technical advice and assistance to management and technical staff in matters related to programming activities.
Instructs staff on new methods and procedures. Assists in the planning, scheduling, assigning, and coordination of programming projects.
