Sistema is looking for a Solar Winds Network Administrator with our government client based in Austin, TX for a 1-year position.

This Hybrid position may require some onsite work at our client’s site in Austin, TX. Normal business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

• Performs administration, maintenance, optimization, and support of the Solar Winds environment.
• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Solar Winds products and modules
• Manage Solar Winds Orion/Hybrid Cloud Observability platform components
• Configure polling engines, additional web servers, and database connectivity
• Perform platform backups, disaster recovery, and system health checks
• Monitor Solar Winds server performance and optimize polling loads

• Network monitoring
• Server monitoring
• Application monitoring
• Net Flow/traffic analysis
• Log monitoring
• Configuration management
• Develop custom alerts, thresholds, and escalation workflows
• Reduce false positives and improve alert accuracy
• Create dashboards and operational views for IT teams and management

• Generate operational and executive reports
• Build custom performance and availability reports
• Analyze trends, bandwidth utilization, and capacity planning data
• Identify recurring infrastructure issues and recommend improvements

Integrate Solar Winds with:

• Active Directory
• BMC Remedy/Helix ITSM
• Email/SMS alerting systems
• SNMP, WMI, Syslog, and API-based monitoring

Support monitoring for:

• Routers
• Switches
• Firewalls
• Wireless infrastructure
• Virtual environments
• Cloud resources

• Manage role-based access control (RBAC)
• Maintain secure configurations and credential management
• Support audit and compliance reporting
  
  Apply vendor security updates and patches

• Troubleshoot monitoring gaps and polling failures
• Resolve Solar Winds platform performance issues
• Coordinate with infrastructure teams during outages
• Support root cause analysis and incident response efforts

• 4 Required Administration and support of the Solar Winds Orion Platform (NPM, NCM, SAM, and related modules), including platform upgrades, patching, and new feature adoption.
