A client of Red Hat is seeking an experienced Senior Open Shift Bare Metal Consultant to lead the deployment, automation, security, and lifecycle management of large-scale Open Shift environments. The ideal candidate will have deep hands‑on expertise managing enterprise Open Shift platforms running on bare metal infrastructure and supporting a fleet of more than 60 clusters across multiple environments.

The consultant will be responsible for planning, deploying, upgrading, and maintaining applications using Git Ops methodologies while ensuring platform consistency, security, and operational excellence across the entire cluster landscape.

This role requires extensive experience building scalable Git Ops frameworks, implementing repeatable deployment strategies, securing Kubernetes/Open Shift environments, automating operational processes, and supporting mission‑critical workloads.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with engineering, operations, and security teams to ensure platform reliability, security, and performance while maintaining comprehensive technical documentation and operational procedures.

• Plan, deploy, and manage the lifecycle of applications using Git Ops across more than 60 Open Shift clusters.
• Upgrade, install, and maintain security tools across all clusters, including:
• Prisma Cloud
• Sentinel One
• Build scalable Git Ops frameworks and deployment strategies for enterprise environments.

• Integrate Open Shift clusters with Privileged Access Management (PAM) solutions.
• Manage secrets, credentials, URLs, and secure configurations.
• Create and maintain secrets within Hashi Corp Vault.
• Establish and support integrations between Hashi Corp Vault and External Secrets Operator (ESO).
• Implement post‑installation security configurations, including:
• Kubeadmin password rotation using AAP playbooks
• MFA implementation
• OIDC integrations with Okta
• Ensure enterprise security standards and best practices are consistently applied.

• Develop and maintain custom Helm charts for security and operational tools.
• Specialised application workloads
• Troubleshoot complex service installations and platform issues.
• Work with engineering, operations, and security teams to resolve production issues.

• Create automation playbooks and workflows for:
• Cluster health checks
• Inventory creation and validation
• Security tool deployment
• Automated merge request generation for Sentinel One and Prisma deployments
• Build operational automation to improve platform efficiency and reliability.

• Create and maintain Methods of Procedure (MoPs).
• Develop technical documentation, runbooks, and operational guides.
• Support knowledge transfer and operational readiness across teams.
