Senior Release Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Release Engineer to design, automate, and maintain cloud configuration, release, and infrastructure management processes across AWS environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in AWS, Terraform, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), release automation, configuration management, backup, patching, and SSL/TLS certificate management. The role will work closely with Dev Ops, Security, and Infrastructure teams to maintain secure, reliable, and highly available cloud environments.

• Develop and maintain configuration management processes, policies, standards, and baselines for AWS environments.
• Design and implement Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform to automate AWS resource provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management.
• Manage AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, and ACM across Development, Test, Stage, and Production environments.
• Support AWS Code Commit, Code Build, Code Deploy, and Code Pipeline for automated release and deployment processes.
• Manage deployments, rollbacks, configuration changes, and environment readiness activities.
• Design and maintain automated AWS backup solutions to support data integrity, resiliency, and compliance requirements.
• Implement automated patching processes for cloud infrastructure and maintain security compliance.
• Monitor and audit environment configurations, patch levels, backup integrity, and certificate compliance.
• Manage installation, renewal, rotation, and validation of SSL/TLS certificates across AWS services.
• Support secure communication configurations and applicable security requirements.
• Develop and maintain documentation for configuration baselines, Terraform standards, modules, infrastructure changes, and operational procedures.
• Troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure and configuration issues and implement improvements.
• Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer on AWS, Terraform, IaC, backup, patching, and certificate management.

• 9+ years of configuration management experience.
• Strong hands‑on experience with AWS and Terraform

• Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, and ACM
  .
• Experience implementing and managing cloud backup solutions.
• Experience with automated cloud infrastructure patching.
• Strong experience with SSL/TLS certificate management and security best practices.
• Experience managing multiple AWS environments including Development, Test, Stage, and Production.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional training, certification, or experience.

• Scripting experience using Python, Bash, or Power Shell for AWS and Terraform automation.
• AWS and/or Terraform certifications.
• Experience working in state or local government environments.
• Experience with vendor management or oversight.
• Experience with Agile delivery or project management tools.
• Experience with organizational change management (OCM).
