Local government law firm located in Round Rock, Texas. We are seeking an experienced paralegal to join our growing team.
Job SummaryFull‑time litigation and administrative support to assigned condemnation and municipal law attorneys. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a heavy workflow in a fast‑paced law firm environment.
Responsibilities- Draft, proofread, and maintain complex legal documents, including pleadings, discovery, correspondence, and case summaries.
- Prepare, respond to, and organize discovery requests and productions.
- Manage and maintain multiple attorney calendars, including hearings, mediations, trials, and docket control deadlines.
- Assist with case management, including opening files, organizing digital records, and maintaining matter‑specific databases.
- Track and enter billable time accurately and promptly.
- Conduct legal and factual research as needed.
- Prepare exhibits, notebooks, hearing binders, and presentation materials.
- Coordinate AV/Webcall/PowerPoint setup and management for hearings and depositions.
- E‑file in state and federal courts and manage service of filings.
- Communicate professionally with clients, court staff, vendors, and opposing counsel.
- Assist attorneys during hearings, mediations, and trial preparation as needed.
- Excellent writing and proofreading skills.
- Strong analytical and complex problem‑solving abilities.
- Effective time management and ability to prioritize competing deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a legal team.
- Familiarity with legal terminology and litigation processes.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work within strict deadlines in a high‑volume practice.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable learning new software platforms.
- High school diploma required; paralegal certificate or relevant college coursework preferred.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal, preferably in eminent domain, municipal law, or related practice areas.
- Experience with e‑filing systems and document management platforms preferred.
