Litigation Paralegal​/Legal Assistant

Overview

Allensworth, a busy and growing commercial construction law firm, seeks a full-time Litigation Paralegal/Legal Assistant in its downtown Austin office.

• Day-to-day management of complex, multiparty lawsuits for multiple attorneys, including management of incoming and outgoing documents and all scheduling needs
• Calendaring and monitoring litigation deadlines and assisting attorneys with management of same
• Prepare first draft shell pleadings, subpoenas, discovery requests and responses, motions, and orders
• Prepare documents for production (review for privilege and Bates label)
• Edit, format, proofread and finalize various documents
• Compose transmittal and other correspondence to opposing counsel, court administrators, litigation support vendors, insurers etc.
• Electronic filing of court documents
• Prepare and provide support for depositions, hearings, trial, and arbitration
• Maintain client and general files, service lists, and case information
• Timely handling of case-related administrative duties, including conflicts checks, client engagement letters, calendaring, travel arrangements, opening and closing of files, etc.
• Perform overflow work on an as-needed basis

• B.A. and/or paralegal certificate; 3-5 years litigation experience preferred
• Qualified candidates will have excellent writing, communication, time-management, and organizational skills
• Candidates should possess a strong attention to detail, exhibit a polished, professional, friendly demeanor, and work well in a team environment
• Proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe, Teams/Zoom/etc., and time-keeping system required
• This job may include lifting items up to 50 pounds
