Position: Attorney / Senior Associate - Employment Law

I'm currently working with a nationally recognised litigation practice that is looking to add an Employment Litigation Associate to its Austin team. This is a strong opportunity for an attorney who wants high-stakes employment litigation, direct client exposure and meaningful responsibility on lean teams
, while also developing the counseling side of their practice.

Why This Opportunity Stands Out
  • Both Sides of the V – Handle employment litigation for both plaintiffs and defendants
, giving you a genuinely varied practice rather than being locked into one side.
  • High-Stakes Matters – Work on complex employment disputes involving significant financial and reputational exposure
    , including executive disputes
, wage-and-hour actions and sensitive workplace matters.
  • No Firm-Wide Billable Requirement – Focus on producing high-quality legal work and developing your practice without a set annual billable-hour target.
  • Lean Teams, Real Responsibility – Take ownership of key work streams and play a visible role on significant matters rather than being buried within large case teams.
  • Litigation + Counseling – Build experience across employment litigation, compliance, investigations, risk mitigation and strategic personnel decisions
    .
  • Direct Partner & Client Exposure – Work closely with experienced partners and communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel and agency representatives
    .
The Role
  • Manage employment litigation matters with increasing independence.
  • Handle single‑plaintiff disputes, wage‑and‑hour class and representative actions, executive disputes, restrictive covenant matters and employment‑related trade secret issues.
  • Draft pleadings, dispositive motions, discovery and substantive briefs.
  • Conduct and defend depositions and support hearings, mediations and settlement conferences.
  • Advise employers and employees on employment disputes, compliance and risk.
  • Conduct workplace investigations and support internal employment assessments.
  • Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel and agency representatives.
  • Take ownership of key work streams and contribute to case strategy.
About You
  • 4–5 years of litigation experience in state and/or federal court.
  • Experience with dispositive motions and discovery management.
  • Strong research, writing and analytical skills.
  • Working knowledge of Texas employment law and civil procedure.
  • Strong credentials and attendance at a good law school.
  • Comfortable handling complex employment disputes and counseling matters.
  • Interest in building a long‑term career and developing a practice.
  • Familiarity with legal AI tools is a plus.
Location
  • Austin, Texas
Package
  • Up to $175,000 base salary, depending on experience and qualifications
  • No firm-wide billable‑hour requirement

If you're an Employment litigator looking for high‑stakes matters, real responsibility, direct client exposure and the opportunity to build both your litigation and counseling practice
, I'd love to speak with you.
