Job Description & How to Apply Below

At Aeon, we design, build, and fly low-cost, modular, weapon systems for ground and air platforms. We take pride in our dynamic and small team that allows us to iterate, build and test quickly. If you are looking to solve hard technical problems with a team of passionate engineers in a hands‑on, fast‑paced environment, Aeon is the place for you.

Aeon is building next‑generation defense solutions, with programs in active development and in low‑rate production. We are hiring an Inventory Control Manager to set‑up and manage inventory across the site. This position will be responsible for overall inventory management, to include the establishment of the inventory process, controls, and reporting infrastructure. This position will help transform the current ad hoc and unstructured inventory handling process into a disciplined, scalable and compliant function for AEON.

This strategic analyst opportunity will report to the VP of Supply Chain and work closely with the engineering and manufacturing organizations to establish structured processes and controls that meet business needs. This role is perfect for entrepreneurial self‑starters, that work well in start‑up cultures where creativity and flexibility is critical.

This is a full‑time, in‑person role located in Austin, TX with plans to move to Cedar Park, TX early 2027.

What you’ll do at Aeon:
  • Develop and implement receiving, put‑away, issuance, returns and disposition processes that facilitate streamlined material movement throughout the plant
  • Establish warehouse locations, part identification, labeling, and handling practices to ensure inventory can be located and pulled efficiently with accuracy
  • Create an ABC inventory classification system, count procedures, variance investigation, and root cause corrective action (RCCA) analysis to effectively control inventory accuracy
  • Develop dashboards and track KPI’s such as: aging by location, aging by value, adjustments by value by month, priority replenishment, shortage updates, excess/slow moving, and obsolete inventory that achieve leadership expectations
  • Perform physical inventory, financial inventory reconciliations, and audits as required
  • Identify opportunity for continuous process improvements as the organization and transaction volumes scale
  • Lead warehouse management system (WMS) deployment inclusive of bar code scanning
  • Document proper standard work instructions, forms, and training materials
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
  • 7+ years of progressive inventory control, warehouse operations, materials management, supply chain or related field, preferably in aerospace, defense, or another ITAR‑regulated hardware environment
  • Proven experience building and continuously improving inventory process and controls
  • Hands on experience with receiving, put‑away, material movement, cycle counting, and inventory variance management in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong ERP/MRP/WMS systems fluency and understanding of how system transactions impact inventory accuracy
  • Proficiency in critical review of data using Excel, including functions, such as pivot tables, lookups, formula driven analysis, and development of inventory and dashboard reporting
  • Ability to identify gaps, establish practical solutions, and improvements without an existing playbook
  • Desire to move fluidly between strategic process development and hands‑on execution as the business requires
While it’s not required, it would be an added plus if you have:
  • Aerospace Defense startup supply chain experience
  • Lean Six Sigma certification
  • Familiarity with quality management systems and supplier quality engineering
  • APICS/ASCM (CPIM, CSCP), ISM (CPSM), or export compliance certifications
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Engineering, or specifically Supply Chain…
