This is a high-impact individual contributor position with the authority, visibility, and executive

presence expected of a senior sourcing leader. The position owns more than $100 million in direct

material spend and serves as MCG's commercial leader and subject‑matter expert for the assigned

categories.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Structural steel, including beams, tubing, channels, angles, and plate
  • Copper, including busbar, grounding products, wire, and related conductive materials
  • Sheet metal fabrication, heavy structural weldments, precision machining, and associated value‑added processing
  • Industrial coatings, paint, plating, finishes, freight, and logistics services
  • Other categories as assigned

Key Business Outcomes:

  • Material Productivity
  • Strategic Supplier Delivery, Quality & Performance
  • Category Strategy, Capacity & Supply Continuity

Accountabilities:

Category Strategy & Commodity Market Intelligence

  • Develop and execute enterprise category strategies for structural steel, copper, fabricated metals, weldments, machining, coatings, and related services; segment suppliers based on capability, competitiveness, risk, and strategic importance.
  • Monitor commodity indexes, market conditions, tariffs, freight, and capacity constraints; provide forecasts and executive updates on financial exposure, supply risk, and recommended actions.
  • Establish commodity pricing methodologies, baselines, adjustment mechanisms, and commercial controls to improve transparency and manage volatility.

Strategic Sourcing & Commercial Leadership

  • Lead enterprise sourcing events, supplier selection, negotiations, and contract strategies for assigned categories.
  • Negotiate indexed and long‑term agreements, volume commitments, inventory programs, and capacity reservations using spend analysis, market intelligence, should‑cost, and total cost of ownership.
  • Aggregate spend and demand across MCG operating companies and COEs and drive enterprise savings initiatives through implementation and financial validation.
  • Develop should‑cost and TCO models covering material, conversion, freight, inventory, lead time, and working capital.
  • Separate commodity movement from supplier conversion costs to improve cost…
