Asset Manager - Southwest
Vecino Group is seeking an Asset Manager to oversee a portfolio of affordable multifamily properties located in the Southwest. The role focuses on driving operational success, ensuring compliance, and maximizing impact and profitability.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee full lifecycle management of the Southwest portfolio from pre‑lease through long‑term operations to ensure performance and profitability.
- Develop and implement strategic plans and objectives to enhance property value, mitigate risks, and meet financial targets.
- Supervise marketing and lease‑up efforts in collaboration with the Southwest property management teams to ensure effective tenant acquisition and retention.
- Develop and monitor property financial budgets, including operational expenses, capital expenditures, revenue targets, distributions, and debt service payments.
- Calculate, review, track, and forecast key financial and performance metrics such as debt service coverage ratio, occupancy, cash balances, and delinquencies.
- Ensure adherence with limited partner, regulatory, and loan agreements.
- Conduct periodic in‑person site visits to ensure safe, well‑maintained facilities.
- Act as an ambassador of Vecino Group’s mission, fostering a culture of exceptional service and resident‑centered outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with third‑party property management teams to align operational execution with asset goals and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal housing standards.
- Communicate regularly with investors, syndicators, and key partners on property performance, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Oversee insurance needs for the Southwest portfolio, including general liability and property insurance, managing renewals and coverage.
- Prepare, review, and deliver regular reports to stakeholders, ensuring all properties meet LIHTC, HOME, and RAD compliance requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, real estate, business, or a related field.
- 5+ years of asset management experience with affordable housing, including LIHTC, HOME, and RAD programs.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Strong financial acumen, accounting, financial modeling, and forecasting skills.
- Strong knowledge of multifamily property operations, lease‑up strategies, and financial management.
- Proven experience working with third‑party property management partners.
- Expertise in managing insurance portfolios and negotiating favorable terms.
- Ability to travel as needed for onsite property oversight and collaboration with teams.
