Project Manager – Identity & Biometrics Solutions, Hybrid, Austin, TX
Thales designs and protects the identity of billions of digital interactions. As a Project Manager, you will deliver solutions that meet customer requirements and Thales’ commitments, directly contributing to customer satisfaction and business growth.
Key Responsibilities- Establish and update project baseline requirements in collaboration with Bid Manager and Capture Leader
- Define project execution baseline: structure, work packages, partner and supplier data, management plans, cost and budget, schedule, risks and mitigations
- Lead project launch review involving all stakeholders: WBS, OBS, schedule, budget, industrial scenario, charter, team charter
- Manage legal and contractual requirements, including dispute resolution
- Conduct regular progress review meetings, reporting to senior management
- Close the project: archive documents, finalize expenditure authorizations, share lessons learned
- Coordinate cross‑team prioritization, resource allocation, risk identification & mitigation, issue resolution
- Monitor project variances; prepare EAC review slides for management
- Present monthly project dashboard with financials and KPIs (variance, contingencies)
- Drive customer interactions, ensuring deadlines, quality specifications and profitability
- Build project schedule and cost baseline, update forecast at least monthly
- Work closely with PM Team Manager, Engineering, IT, Security, Operations for clear communication and business‑based prioritization
- Maintain strong partnerships with PMO, Procurement, Supply Chain, Data Center, Quality, Software Development, Validation, Manufacturing, Logistics and Ops Finance to continuously improve process quality and on‑time delivery
- Ensure compliance with Thales, Customer, Security, and all applicable regulations for each project
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field and PMP certification with 5+ years of technical / engineering project management experience
- Prior experience communicating technical information to external customers and stakeholders on a regular basis
- Prior experience managing scope and requirements autonomously
- Proven experience with PM tools (Confluence, JIRA, Microsoft Project); risk management activities (forecasting, variance measurement, contingency monitoring)
- Proven track record with change management – planning for transformational and transitional change, people impact, and technical understanding of multi‑tier enterprise solutions within a complex environment
- Proficiency in written and oral communication
Position Requirements
- Travel: up to 25% domestic for specification, integration phases and workshops
